South Korean Doosan begins construction of new plant in Mexico

The industrial conglomerate Doosan Group will invest $300 million to produce loaders, excavators, compact tractors, utility products, telehandlers, among other equipment in Mexico, reported its subsidiary in the United States, Bobcat Company.

“The 700,000-square-foot facility is expected to be operational in 2026,” Bobcat Company reported in a press release.

The investment will be made in the northern city of Salinas Victoria, Nuevo León, a town located 132 miles south of the border city of Laredo, Texas. It is also 23 miles north of the state capital, Monterrey.

The investment announcement was made in November of last year and now the announcement is for the start of construction of the plant.

The manufacturing facility will seek LEED Silver certification and feature state-of-the-art technology with an emphasis on quality, precision and energy efficiency.

According to the company, the new plant will generate between 600 and 800 jobs for the region.
