South Africa’s base metal export value down 1.7 percent in Jan from Dec

According to data released by the South African Revenue Service (SARS), in January this year the value of South Africa’s exports of base metals and articles thereof totaled ZAR 16.19 billion ($1.06 billion), down 1.7 percent from December.

In January this year, the country’s imports of base metals and articles thereof amounted to ZAR 6.75 billion ($443.15 million), falling by 15.4 percent from the previous month.
