State-owned Iranian iron ore output rises three percent

Iran's state-owned miners produced 6,210,215 mt of iron ore in the first quarter of the current Iranian year (started on March 21), up three percent from the same period last year, according to the newly published figures from IMIDRO (Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization).
 
Iran has been stepping up its exploitation and production of iron ore in recent years. According to IMIDRO, Iran's state-owned miners produced 25,280,385 mt of iron ore in the last Iranian year (ended March 20).
