Steelmakers in Hebei see strong rise in gross profit in Jan-Feb

In the January-February period of the current year, steelmakers in China’s Hebei Province achieved an overall operating revenue of RMB 136.976 billion ($21.17 billion), down 8.82 percent year on year, accounting for 23.62 percent of overall industrial operating revenue in Hebei Province in the given period, according to the Hebei Metallurgical Industry Association. Meanwhile, steelmakers in Hebei Province recorded an aggregate gross profit of RMB 1.222 billion ($0.19 billion) in the given period, up 499.09 percent  year on year, accounting for 4.63 percent of the aggregate gross profit of overall industry in Hebei Province.

In the January-February period of the current year, overall value-added industrial output in the Hebei steel sector amounted to RMB 26.398 billion ($4.08 billion), up 2.83 percent  year on year.
