Sweden’s GreenIron secures funding to build DRI plant

Swedish startup GreenIron has secured up to SEK 100 million ($9.27 million) in funding, provided through additional capital from its shareholders, for its hydrogen-based direct iron reduction (DRI) production plant in Sandviken, according to media reports.

Construction works for the plant, which will have an annual production capacity of 28,000 mt of green DRI, are underway. The plant is expected to start commercial production by the end of this year.
