Taiwan's industrial production index in July this year increased by 1.1 percent compared to June and was down 0.3 percent year on year, according to the country's Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA). Meanwhile, Taiwan's seasonally adjusted industrial production index in July increased 0.44 percent compared to the previous month, while rising by 2.1 percent year on year.
In the January-July period of this year, Taiwan's seasonally adjusted industrial production index decreased by 1.8 percent year on year.
In July this year, industrial output in the country's basic metal manufacturing sector rose by 0.8 percent and output of metal product manufacturing saw a decrease of 2.5 percent, both compared to the previous month. In addition, on year-on-year basis, in July this year output of the basic metal manufacturing sector dropped by 1.5 percent and the metal product manufacturing sector saw a decrease of 6.9 percent in output.
Meanwhile, in July this year, production in Taiwan's machinery and equipment industry fell by 10.8 percent, while output in the automotive industry was down by 12.1 percent, both year on year.
