Taiwan's industrial production index in May this year increased by 7.6 percent compared to April and was up by 7.05 percent year on year, according to the country's Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA). Meanwhile, Taiwan's seasonally adjusted industrial production index in May rose by 1.3 percent compared to the previous month, while increasing by 7.5 percent year on year.
In May this year, industrial output in the country's basic metal manufacturing sector was up by 7.04 percent and output of metal product manufacturing saw an increase of 10.5 percent, both compared to the previous month. In addition, on year-on-year basis, in May this year output of the basic metal manufacturing sector advanced by 2.9 percent and the metal product manufacturing sector grew by 7.5 percent in output.
Meanwhile, in May this year, production in Taiwan's machinery and equipment industry rose by 17.5 percent, while output in the automotive industry was up by 7.16 percent, both year on year.
