Taiwan's iron and steel export value down 20.4 percent in Jan-Apr

In April this year, the value of Taiwan's iron and steel exports decreased by 16.2 percent year on year to $1.13 billion, according to the preliminary statistics issued by Taiwan's Ministry of Finance. In the given month, the country's iron and steel import value totaled $563 million, down 31.7 percent year on year. 
 
In the first four months of the current year, the value of Taiwan's iron and steel exports declined 20.4 percent to $4.32 billion, while the value of the country's imports of iron and steel totaled $2.25 billion, decreasing by 35.1 percent, both on year-on year basis.
