Taiwan's iron and steel export value rises 16.6 percent in Q1

In March this year, the value of Taiwan's iron and steel exports increased by 19.5 percent year on year to $1.7 billion, according to the preliminary statistics issued by Taiwan's Ministry of Finance. In the given month, the country's iron and steel import value totaled $973 million, up 18.7 percent year on year.

In the first quarter of 2018, the value of Taiwan's iron and steel exports rose by 16.6 percent to $4.7 billion, while the value of the country's imports of iron and steel totaled $2.50 billion, increasing by 11.7 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
