The municipal government of Tangshan in Hebei Province has announced that it will require 45 integrated steel producers in Tangshang to reduce their crude steel production from April 29 to October 16 this year during the period of the Tangshan International Horticultural Exposition. The measure is expected to result in an overall reduction of 5.56 million mt in crude steel output.

In addition, the operations of another 117 steel rolling plants mainly specialized in production of steel strip, construction steel and channels will likely be affected to some small extent by the reduction in crude steel output in question.
