Tata and BlueScope JV starts operations at Indian coated steel plant

Tata BlueScope Steel, an equal joint venture between Indian steel giant Tata Steel and Australia-based steelmaker BlueScope, has started operations at its coated steel plant in the eastern Indian city of Jamshedpur, according to media reports.
 
The $175 million steel plant will have an annual metallic coating capacity of 250,000 mt, including a pre-painting capacity of 150,000 mt per year. The metallic coated products will be used in pre-fabricated buildings.
