Indian steelmaker Tata Steel has announced that its crude steel output for the fourth quarter of the financial year 2015-16 ending March 31 amounted to 2.56 million mt, rising by 4.87 percent year on year. The company's liquid pig iron output in the given period was 2.71 million mt, up by 1.42 percent compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.
In the 2015-16 financial year, the company's crude steel output increased by 6.7 percent to 9.96 million mt, while its liquid pig iron output stood at 10.65 million mt, up 4.84 percent, both year on year.
During the January-March period, Tata Steel's finished steel output increased by 6.57 percent to 2.55 million mt, while its finished steel sales volume totaled 2.71 million mt, up by 12.87 percent, both compared to the same period of the previous financial year.
In the full financial year, the company produced 9.7 million mt of finished steel, up 6.88 percent, while its finished steel sales volume increased by nine percent to 9.54 million mt, both year on year.
Tata Steel stated that in the given financial year it registered its best-ever performance in production of liquid pig iron, crude steel and finished steel and in overall sales.
