TCUD: Turkey’s steel export volume up 12.3 percent in Jan-Sept

In the first nine months of the current year, Turkey's steel exports increased by 12.3 percent year on year to 15.2 million mt, while the value of these exports moved up by 30.3 percent year on year to $12.5 billion, according to the data released by the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD).

In the given period, Turkey's long steel exports rose by 10.8 percent to 7.5 million mt, while its flat steel exports increased by 27.7 percent to 4.1 million mt, both on year-on-year basis. In the January-September period, the country’s semi-finished steel exports declined by 20.7 percent to 526,000 mt, year on year.

In September this year, Turkey's steel exports increased by 87.2 percent to 2.1 million mt, with a value of $1.6 billion, up 76.3 percent, both year on year.

In the given month, Turkey's flat steel exports surged by 85.7 percent year on year to 519,000 mt, while its long steel product exports rose by 100 percent year on year to 972,000 mt. In the given month, the country’s semi-finished steel exports were up by 362 percent to 176,000 mt, year on year.
