In the first eight months of the current year, Turkey's steel exports increased by 5.7 percent year on year to 13.1 million mt, while the value of these exports moved up by 25.5 percent year on year to $11 billion, according to the data released by the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD).
In the given period, Turkey's long steel exports rose by 4.2 percent to 6.5 million mt, while its flat steel exports increased by 22.2 percent to 3.6 million mt, both on year-on-year basis. In the January-August period, the country’s semi-finished steel exports declined by 44.1 percent to 350,000 mt, year on year.
In August this year, Turkey's steel exports increased by 27 percent to 1.6 million mt, with a value of $1.3 billion, up 29 percent, both year on year.
In the given month, Turkey's flat steel exports surged by 24.1 percent year on year to 365,000 mt, while its long steel product exports rose by 43 percent year on year to 869,000 mt. In the given month, the country’s semi-finished steel exports were up by 64 percent to 73,000 mt, year on year.
