According to local news reports, Ipsco Tubulars Inc., a division of Houston, Texas-based TMK Ipsco, is planning to temporarily lay off workers at its Baytown, Texas plant.

The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act letter issued to employees notes that as many as 112 employees could be affected, and the layoff is expected to occur during the two weeks beginning on April 6.

In the WARN letter, Ipsco said it “remains hopeful that it will be able to rescind this notice for some affected employees and/or recall employees subsequent to this layoff if demand for its products and services increases sufficiently.”
