Russia's largest oil and gas pipe producer TMK has announced that it has successfully conducted pneumatic tests on large diameter longitudinal pipes at Gazprom's Kopeisk test site in the Chelyabinsk region.

Accordingly, the X80 longitudinal welded 1,420 mm pipes with 23 mm wall thickness produced at TMK's subsidiary Volzhsky Pipe Plant were subjected to fracture testing under a pressure of 13 MPa. The test results were submitted to Gazprom's Permanent Commission on new types of pipes used in the construction and operation of high-pressure 11.8 MPa gas transmission pipelines.

The tests were carried out within the framework of the scientific and technical cooperation program between TMK and Gazprom.
