Japanese steel producer Tokyo Steel has announced the launch of its new near-zero emission steel products, including hot rolled steel, steel pipes, long steel and steel plates.

Described as “as close to zero as possible, but not completely zero”, these green steel products only emit 0.1 mt of carbon dioxide during production, which the company achieves through the help of using non-fossil fuel energy sources. These new green steel products are manufactured at Tokyo Steel’s four domestic plants.

Starting from Monday, July 1, the Japanese steelmaker opened orders for its customers, who will also receive certificates guaranteeing the authenticity of the products. Tokyo Steel plans to use its revenues from this product line to further accelerate carbon neutrality.
