Japanese automaker Toyota Motor Corporation has announced that its global vehicle output increased by 4.1 percent year on year to 798,771 units in August this year. In particular, the company’s domestic output rose by 21.8 percent to 238,719 units, while its overseas output in the given month decreased by two percent to 560,052 units, both year on year.
Toyota’s global vehicle sales amounted to 853,285 units in August, rising by 9.8 percent year on year.
In the January-August period this year, the company’s global vehicle output was up by 11.4 percent year on year to 6,501,942 units, while its global sales amounted to 6,650,425 units, increasing by six percent on year-on-year basis.
The company stated that the increases in both sales and output are due to a recovery from the impact of semiconductor shortages.
