Turkey imposes additional import duty on some steel products

According to a statement published in the country’s Official Gazette, Turkey has imposed additional import duty on some steel products and many imported products. These include some flat steel products and pipe products. The additional duty rates will be implemented in two stages, effective until September 30, and as of October 1.

Cold rolled beam products under codes 7216.61, 7216.69, 7216.91 ve 7216.99 will be subject to 17 percent duty rate in both stages. Stainless wires under code 7223 and alloyed wires under code 7229 will be subject to a five percent duty rate in both stages.

On the other hand, pipe fittings under code 7307 will be subject to 15.1 percent duy rate until September 30 and a 10 percent duty rate as of October 1.
