Turkey's automotive sales down 30.06 percent in July from June

In July this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey decreased by 30.18 percent year on year and were down by 36.06 percent month on month to 58,533 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey decreased by 29.04 percent year on year and were down by 35.9 percent month on month to 45,566 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles decreased by 33.9 percent year on year and were down by 36.5 percent month on month to 12,967 units.
 
Meanwhile, in the January-July period of this year domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles saw a decrease of 3.69 percent year on year, amounting to 497,350 units. In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country decreased by 2.04 percent to 384,048 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles fell by 8.86 percent to 113,302 units, both on year-on-year basis.
