Turkey's automotive sales up 2.3 percent in April from March

In April this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey decreased by 7.3 percent year on year and were up by 2.3 percent month on month to 84,887 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey decreased by 6.5 percent year on year and were up by 2.6 percent month on month to 65,618 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles decreased by 9.9 percent year on year and were up by 1.6 percent month on month to 19,269 units.
 
Meanwhile, in the January-April period this year domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles decreased by 4.3 percent year on year, amounting to 253,373 units. In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country decreased by 1.9 percent to 193,539 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles fell by 11.5 percent to 59,834 units, both on year-on-year basis.
