Turkey's automotive sales up 57 percent in March from February

In March this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey decreased by 0.4 percent year on year and were up by 57 percent month on month to 82,948 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey increased by 3.7 percent year on year and were up by 57.6 percent month on month to 63,975 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles decreased by 12.3 percent year on year and were up by 55.5 percent month on month to 18,973 units.
 
Meanwhile, in the January-March period this year domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles decreased by 2.7 percent year on year, amounting to 168,486 units. In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country increased by 0.7 percent to 127,921 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles fell by 12.3 percent to 40,565 units, both on year-on-year basis.
