According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in June this year Turkey's chrome ore exports amounted to 237,926 metric tons, rising 68.4 compared to the same month of 2011 and up 7.1 percent compared to May this year. Meanwhile, in June the revenue generated by Turkey's chrome ore exports totaled $44.3 million, decreasing 3.1 percent compared to May this year and up 37.4 percent on year-on-year basis.
Meanwhile, in the first half of 2012 Turkey's chrome ore exports increased by three percent to 1.07 million metric tons, while the revenue for these exports stood at $213.1 million, down by 6.4 percent, both compared to the same period of 2011.
In the first half of this year, Turkey's chrome ore exports to China rose 9.5 percent to 937,365 mt, while the country's chrome ore exports to Sweden and to Russia decreased by 46.8 percent and 7.9 percent to 45,210 mt and 35,453 mt respectively, all compared to the first six months of 2011.
On the other hand, Turkey's nickel ore exports in June this year amounted to 71,950 mt, rising 51.8 percent compared to June 2011, while in the first half of the year nickel ore exports from Turkey fell by 21.4 percent year on year to 160,150 mt. The country's manganese ore exports in June this year reached 4,731 mt, rising 65 percent, while in the first half of the year manganese ore exports from Turkey fell by 4.9 percent to 42,863 mt, both on year-on-year basis.
