Turkey's coking coal imports down 2.5 percent in H1

In June this year, Turkey's coking coal imports totaled 403,803 mt, falling by 14.1 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and down 25.6 percent month on month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the value of these imports was $33.1 million, down 27.3 percent compared to May and falling by 35.7 percent year on year.

In the first six months, Turkey's coking coal imports decreased by 2.5 percent to 2.6 million mt, while the value of these imports decreased by 25.3 percent to $229.5 million, both year on year.
 
In the given period, Turkey's coking coal imports from Australia amounted to 1,142,889 mt, while coking coal imports from Canada totaled 723,987 mt.
