In April this year, Turkey's cold rolled coil (CRC) imports increased by 1.5 percent month on month to 80,061metric tons and were up by 27.7 percent compared to the same month of 2015, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these imports was $30.5 million, rising by 2.1 percent compared to March and down by 16.3 percent year on year.
During the January-April period this year, Turkey's CRC imports increased by 13.3 percent to 257,679 mt, while the value of these imports amounted to $101.9 million, falling 26.9 percent, both year on year.
In the first four months of the current year, Russia ranked first among Turkey's CRC import sources, supplying 103,682 metric tons, up 11.28 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the given month, Turkey's CRC imports from Ukraine totaled 51,668 metric tons, up 58.72 percent compared to the same period of 2015.
