Turkey’s ferrous scrap imports hit 9.76 million mt in Jan-Aug

According to the customs statistics compiled by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in the January-August period of the current year Turkey's ferrous scrap imports totaled 9.76 million metric tons.

In the first eight months of the year, Turkey's average ferrous scrap import price was $255/mt.

During the period in question, Turkey's main ferrous scrap source was Europe, with imports of 4.88 million metric tons, followed by North America with 2.7 million metric tons and the CIS with 1.32 million mt.
