Turkey’s GDP up four percent in 2015

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) has announced that Turkey's gross domestic product (GDP) in the fourth quarter of last year grew by 13.6 percent to TRY 507.25 billion ($180.1 billion) in current prices and by 5.7 percent in constant prices to TRY 34.7 billion ($12.34 billion), both compared to the same period of 2014.
 
In 2015, Turkey's GDP grew by 11.7 percent to TRY 1.95 trillion ($693.76 billion) in current prices and by four percent in constant prices to TRY 131.2 billion ($46.62 billion), both compared to 2014.
 
Meanwhile, in the fourth quarter Turkey's seasonal and calendar adjusted GDP increased by 0.7 percent compared to the previous quarter. In 2015, seasonal and calendar adjusted GDP rose by four percent compared to 2014.
 
According to the TUIK data, Turkey's manufacturing sector contributed 24.2 percent in constant prices to Turkey's overall GDP in the fourth quarter of last year. In 2015, Turkey's manufacturing sector contributed 24.1 percent in constant prices to Turkey's overall GDP.
