On September 2, the Turkish long steel producer İzmir Demir Çelik Sanayi A.S. (IDC) announced that it has recommissioned its meltshop and that it plans to restart its rolling mill by September 7.

The plant's rolling mill and meltshop were idled on August 16 and August 20 respectively in order to allow maintenance works to be carried out.

In the first six months of the current year IDC produced 546,503 metric tons of steel billets and 393,305 metric tons of rebar.
