In the first 11 months of last year, Turkey's iron ore imports amounted to 7.18 million mt, increasing by 3.87 percent, with a value of $1.02 billion, down 0.11 percent, both year on year, according to the statistics provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
On the other hand, in November last year Turkey's iron ore imports totaled 454,421 metric tons, decreasing by 19.96 percent compared to October and up 51.39 year on year, while the value of these imports amounted to $62.54 million, down 24.68 percent month on month and double (up 101.161 percent) year on year.
In the January-November period of 2013, Turkey's iron ore imports from Brazil decreased by 42.87 percent year on year to 2.42 million mt, while its iron ore imports from Ukraine in the given period almost tripled on year-on-year basis to 1.72 million mt.
