According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in April this year Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) exports amounted to 6,370 mt, falling by 21.2 percent compared to the previous month and down 42.6 percent year on year, while the revenue from these exports totaled $5.5 million, down 12.4 percent month on month and falling 46.5 percent compared to the same month of 2015.
During the first four months of the current year, Turkey’s PPGI exports decreased by 36 percent to 23,120 mt, while the revenue from these exports amounted to $18.85 million, down 43 percent, both year on year.
Bulgaria was Turkey's leading PPGI export destination in the January-April period, with imports of 3,758 mt of PPGI from Turkey. In the given period, Bulgaria was followed by Algeria and Libya, with Algeria’s PPGI imports from Turkey amounting to 2,159 mt, while Libya received 1,633 mt of PPGI from Turkey in this period.
