Turkey’s rebar exports decrease by 44.9 percent in Jan-Sept

In September this year, Turkey’s rebar exports amounted to 404,458 metric tons, up by 9.3 percent compared to August and down by 19.4 percent year on year, according to the preliminary data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $230.56 million, rising by 5.9 percent compared to the previous month and declining by 31.7 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in the January-September period of this year, Turkey’s rebar exports amounted to 2.50 million metric tons, down by 44.9 percent compared to the same period last year, while the revenue generated by these exports totaled $1.60 billion, falling by 52.7 percent year on year.

In the given period, Turkey’s largest rebar export destination was Israel which received 589,377 mt, down 25.0 percent year on year. Israel was followed by Yemen with 552,072 mt, up 2.6 percent, and Ethiopia with 213,911 mt, up 252.2 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
