In December last year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 675,497 metric tons, up 35.9 percent compared to November and falling by 10.44 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $225.34 million, decreasing by 40.3 percent compared to December 2014 and up 31.8 percent month on month.
In 2015, Turkey's rebar exports decreased by six percent year on year to 7.07 million mt, while the value of these exports stood at $3 billion, down 28.1 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2014.
In 2015, Turkey's largest rebar export destination was the US which received 1,345,827 metric tons, up 45.6 percent year on year. The US was followed by the UAE with 1,267,384 metric tons, down 4.66 percent, and Egypt with 829,647 metric tons, up 100.17 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
