In January this year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 636,505 metric tons, down 5.77 percent compared to December and rising by 17.4 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $208.2 million, decreasing by 21.4 percent compared to January 2015 and down 7.6 percent month on month.
In the given month, Turkey's largest rebar export destination was the UAE which received 140,984 metric tons, up 34.8 percent year on year. The UAE was followed by Egypt with 138,586 metric tons and the US with 133,790 metric tons.
