Turkey’s semis imports hit 2.41 million mt in January-July

According to the customs statistics compiled by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in the January-July period of the current year, Turkey's semi-finished steel product imports, including steel billet, bloom and slab, totaled 2.41 million metric tons.

In the first seven months of the current year, the average import price of semi-finished steel products was $392/mt.

During the period in question, Turkey's main semi-finished steel product source was the CIS, with imports of 2.26 million metric tons, accounting for 93.61 percent of the total semi-finished product imports. The CIS was followed by Europe with 151,720 metric tons.
