Meanwhile, in the first three months of 2012 Turkey's steel billet exports declined by 20.7 percent to 449,217 metric tons, while the revenue for these exports stood at $274 million, down by 18.3 percent, both compared to the same period of 2011.
In the first quarter of this year, Turkey more than doubled its steel billet exports to Saudi Arabia, while the country's steel billet exports to Iran decreased almost by 100 percent, both compared to the first three months of 2011.
