In the January-July period of this year, Turkey's steel exports decreased by 1.5 percent year on year to 9.66 million mt, while the value of these exports decreased by 16.2 percent year on year to $6.04 billion, according to the data released by the Turkish Iron and Steel Producers' Association (TCUD).
In the given period, Turkey's long steel exports rose by 0.6 percent to 6.07 million mt, while flat steel exports increased by 4.6 percent to 1.44 million mt, both on year-on-year basis.
In July this year, Turkey's steel exports narrowed by 11.2 percent to 1.2 million mt, with a value of $776 million, down 18.8 percent, both year on year.
In July, in particular exports of semi-finished and flat steel products indicated dramatic year-on-year declines. In July this year, Turkey's flat steel exports narrowed by 34.8 percent to 162,000 mt, while the long steel product exports of the country increased by 1.2 percent to 812,000 mt, both compared to the same month of 2015. In the same month, Turkish pipe and tube exports decreased by 32.6 percent to 99,800 mt, year on year.
