Turkey’s steel export volume up by 1.6 percent in Q1

In the first quarter of this year, Turkey's steel exports increased by 1.6 percent year on year to 4.38 million mt, while the value of these exports decreased by 20.9 percent year on year to $2.54 billion, according to the data released by the Turkish Iron and Steel Producers' Association (TCUD). 
 
In the given quarter, Turkey's semi-finished exports continued to decrease, falling by 65 percent on year-on-year basis to 37,500 mt. In the first quarter of this year, the flat steel exports of the country increased by 43.5 percent to 683,000 mt, while its long steel exports decreased by two percent to 2.77 million mt, both on year-on-year basis.
