Turkey’s steel imports from China down 21.5 percent in 2016

As stated by the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD), in December last year Turkey’s steel imports from China fell by 79.5 percent year on year to 82,409 mt, mostly due to the decrease in billet imports. In December, Turkey imported 10 mt billet from China
  
Turkey’s steel imports from China in 2016 fell by 21.5 percent on year-on-year basis to 2.35 million mt. In 2016, Turkey’s billet imports from China totaled 1.07 million mt, down by 27.1 percent year on year. 
 
Last year, Turkey’s flat steel imports from China decreased by 35.4 percent to 541,730 mt, while its long steel imports from the same country were up by 44.7 percent to 328,646 mt, both on year-on-year basis.
