Turkey’s steel imports from China rise by 18.5 percent in Jan-Feb

As stated by the Turkish Iron and Steel Producers' Association (TCUD), Turkey’s steel imports from China in the first two months of this year rose by 18.5 percent on year-on-year basis to 461,000 mt. 
 
In February alone, Turkey’s steel imports from China increased by 62 percent year on year to 341,000 mt.
 
In the January-February period of this year, Turkey's semi-finished imports from China increased by 770 percent to 260,000 mt compared to the 30,000 mt recorded in the same period of 2015. In the period in question, Turkey’s flat steel imports from China decreased by 64 percent to 94,000 mt, while its steel pipe imports from China were up by 42 percent to 35,000 mt, both on year-on-year basis.
