According to the statistics provided by the Turkish Steel Pipe Manufacturers Association (CEBID), in the first eight months of this year Turkey's total steel pipe exports amounted to 1.2 million metric tons, increasing by 10.15 percent compared to the corresponding period last year. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $1.1 billion, up by 2.77 percent compared to January-August 2011.
In the first eight months, Turkey's biggest destination for steel pipe exports was again the US, with the export volume to that country increasing by 95 percent year on year. Meanwhile, Poland was one of the top 10 export destinations in the period in question, due to the high export level recorded in August. In the month in question, Poland was the third largest steel pipe export destination of Turkey, importing 11,406 mt.
In August this year, Turkey's total steel pipe exports amounted to 152,418 metric tons, surging by 46.6 percent year on year and up 2.2 percent compared to July. The revenue from these exports totaled $142.7 million, rising 25.1 percent compared to August 2011.
