Turkey’s wire rod exports increase by 149.5 percent in January-April

In April this year, Turkey’s wire rod exports amounted to 40,979 metric tons, down by 70.1 percent compared to March and up by 52.6 percent year on year, according to the preliminary data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $25.35 million, decreasing by 70.0 percent compared to the previous month and growing by 28.5 percent year on year.

In the January-April period, Turkey's wire rod exports amounted to 388,481 mt, up 149.5 percent, while the value of these exports increased by 115.8 percent to $241.28 million, both year on year.

In the given period, Turkey’s largest wire rod export destination was Romania which received 122,257 mt. Romania was followed by Belgium with 34,548 mt and Bulgaria with 28,063 mt.
