Turkish auto sales decline 32 percent in July

According to the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD), in July 2009 motor vehicle sales in Turkey totaled 30.246 units, declining by 32.3 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

Meanwhile, the country's motor vehicle exports amounted to 64,169 units in the month in question, retreating by 33.4 percent year on year. The revenue generated by motor vehicle exports declined by 34.3 percent, compared to July 2008, to $1.449 billion. In July, Turkey imported 14.781 motor vehicles, down 44.4 percent year on year.

As SteelOrbis previously reported, in July 2009 Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 88.198 units, decreasing by 25 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.
