In February this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 120,691 units, rising by 11 percent year on year and up 23.7 percent month on month, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD). In the first two months of this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 218,280 units, up three percent year on year.
In February alone, passenger car output amounted to 72,740 units, increasing by 11 percent, while commercial vehicle output totaled 47,951 units, up 10 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In the January-February period, passenger car output totaled 130,945 units, up four percent, and commercial vehicle production amounted to 87,335 units, rising by two percent, both compared to the first two months of 2015.
The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry was 84 percent in February this year, while the rate was 76 percent in the first two months of the year.
