Turkish motor vehicle output up five percent in June

In June this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 131,171 units, rising by five percent year on year and up 4.7 percent month on month, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD). In the first half of this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 725,477 units, up nine percent year on year.
 
In June alone, passenger car output amounted to 82,175 units, increasing by 11 percent, while commercial vehicle output totaled 48,996 units, down three percent, both on year-on-year basis. In the first half of this year, passenger car output totaled 441,366 units, up 13 percent, and commercial vehicle production amounted to 284,111 units, rising by three percent, both compared to the same period of 2015.
 
The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry was 91 percent in June this year, while the rate was 84 percent in the first half of the year.
