In January this year, Turkey's motor vehicle sales totaled 33,730 units, decreasing by eight percent year on year, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD). In the same month, Turkey's passenger car sales totaled 23,348 units, down five percent year on year.
In January, Turkey's motor vehicle exports totaled 68,800 units, down 13 percent, while passenger car exports decreased by 20 percent to 38,621 units, both year on year. In the same month, the country exported 28,779 small trucks, up eight percent year on year. In the month in question, revenues from total motor vehicle and component exports decreased by 12 percent to $1.6 billion, while the revenues from passenger car exports totaled $376.1 million, decreasing by 35 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
In January of the current year, Turkey's total motor vehicle imports amounted to 20,956 units, down five percent, while passenger car imports totaled 15,947 units, down seven percent, both year on year.
