In March, Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) imports amounted to 9,381 mt, rising by 2.6 percent compared to the previous month and up 63 percent year on year, while the revenue from these imports totaled $6.6 million, up 20 percent year on year and rising by five percent month on month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
In the first three months of the current year, Turkey's PPGI imports increased by 110 percent to 26,152 mt, while the revenue from these imports amounted to $17.7 million, up 50.6 percent, both year on year.
In the given period, China ranked first among Turkey's PPGI import sources, supplying 15,789 metric tons, up 158.9 percent year on year. China was followed by Italy and Belgium, with their PPGI exports to Turkey amounting to 5,342 metric tons and 1,724 metric tons respectively.
