In June, Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) imports amounted to 11,396 mt, falling by 10.9 percent compared to the previous month and up by sevenfold year on year, while the revenue from these imports totaled $8.1 million, rising by 263.4 percent year on year and up 3.8 percent month on month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
In the first six months of the current year, Turkey's PPGI imports increased by 143 percent to 57,308 mt, while the revenue from these imports amounted to $38.5 million, up 65 percent, both year on year.
In the given period, China ranked first among Turkey's PPGI import sources, supplying 39,548 metric tons, up 240.7 percent year on year. China was followed by Italy and Belgium, with their PPGI exports to Turkey amounting to 8,248 metric tons and 3,228 metric tons respectively.
