Turkish PPGI imports up 150 percent in January-February

In February, Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) imports amounted to 9,146 mt, rising by 20 percent compared to the previous month and up 193.8 percent year on year, while the revenue from these imports totaled $6.3 million, up 134 percent year on year and rising by 51.8 percent month on month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
 
In the first two months of the current year, Turkey's PPGI imports increased by 150 percent to 16,770 mt, while the revenue from these imports amounted to $11 million, up 74.2 percent, both year on year.
 
In the given period, China ranked first among Turkey's PPGI import sources, supplying 10,563 metric tons, up 373.46 percent year on year. China was followed by Italy and India, with their PPGI exports to Turkey amounting to 2,664 metric tons and 1,596 metric tons respectively.
