Turkish wire rod exports down 35.54 percent in Nov from Oct

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in the first 11 months of 2013 Turkey's wire rod exports amounted to 845,480 mt, decreasing by 15.89 percent, while the revenue from these exports fell to $509.31 million, down 21.06 percent, both compared to the same period of 2012.

On the other hand, in November Turkey's wire rod exports decreased by 23.71 percent year on year to 58,502 metric tons, and decreased by 35.54 percent month on month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $34.66 million, down 24.49 percent year on year and down 36.02 percent month on month. In the given month, the average price of Turkey's wire rod exports stood at $592.51/mt, falling $4.52/mt month on month and down from the average of $598.68/mt recorded in the same month of 2012.

In the January-November period of the current year, Turkey's wire rod exports to Libya rose by 51.74 percent to 105,793 mt, while its wire rod exports to Italy increased by 64.75 percent to 54,131 mt, both compared with the same period of 2012. In November last year, Brazil was the leading destination for Turkey's wire rod exports, while wire rod exports to Libya recorded a strong year-on-year decrease of 93.08 percent to 1,276 metric tons.
