Meanwhile, the revenue generated by Turkey's wire rod exports in September totaled $90.4 million, increasing by 114 percent year on year and up 33.5 percent compared to the previous month.
In September, the average export price of Turkish wire rod amounted to $739/mt, up $3/mt or 0.4 percent from August levels and indicating an increase of $148/mt or 25 percent compared to September 2010.
Meanwhile, in the first nine months of 2011, Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 3.13 percent, amounting to 933,888 metric tons, while the revenue of these exports totaled $666 million, up 27.6 percent, both compared to the corresponding period of 2010.
In the month in question Turkey's wire rod exports to Israel increased 2,355 percent, while Turkish mills have also focused on Latin American and Central African markets. In the meantime, Turkey's wire rod exports to Bulgaria in September this year amounted to 1,200 mt, whereas Turkey did not export any wire rod to Bulgaria in September last year.
